Help Center › Reseller Custom Domains
Overview
As a reseller, you can configure a custom domain so that your clients access the platform via your own URL rather than the NFC Tagify default address. When set up, your clients will log in at something like app.yourbrand.com and their public profile links will resolve through cards.yourbrand.com — with no visible reference to NFC Tagify.
This is separate from the custom domain feature available to individual client companies, though the two work together. This page covers reseller-level domain setup; for company-level domains, see [Custom Domains for Company Profiles](../help-pages/custom-domains.md).

What Reseller Custom Domains Do
When a reseller custom domain is active:
- The platform login and portal are accessible via your domain (e.g.
app.yourbrand.com). -
Public profile links for all companies under your reseller account use your domain as the base URL (e.g.
cards.yourbrand.com/jane-smith). - SSL is provisioned automatically — clients see the padlock in their browser as they would on any secure site.
- NFC Tagify domain names do not appear anywhere in the client experience.

DNS Requirements
Adding the DNS Record
You will need to add a CNAME record at your DNS provider pointing your chosen subdomain to NFC Tagify's servers.
| Type | Name | Value |
|------|------|-------|
| CNAME | app (or your chosen prefix) | [NEEDS VERIFICATION: CNAME target provided in portal] |
If you want to use a root/apex domain (e.g. yourbrand.com with no prefix), your DNS provider must support ALIAS or ANAME records. Most providers do not support CNAME at the apex. Using a subdomain is strongly recommended.
Propagation Time
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate globally. In practice, most providers complete propagation within a couple of hours. The portal will confirm when your domain has been verified successfully.
---
SSL Provisioning
SSL certificates are provisioned automatically via Cloudflare once your domain is verified. You do not need to purchase or configure a certificate separately. The certificate is also renewed automatically before it expires.
After the domain verifies, the platform will show a status of Active. Do not direct clients to the new domain until this status is confirmed — HTTPS will not work until the certificate has been provisioned.
If the certificate does not appear after 15 minutes of the domain showing as verified:
- Check for conflicting DNS records (such as an A record on the same subdomain as your CNAME).
- Contact NFC Tagify support if the issue persists.

How It Differs from Company Custom Domains
| | Reseller custom domain | Company custom domain |
|--|------------------------|----------------------|
| Who configures it | Reseller admin | Company admin |
| What it affects | Platform login URL + all public profiles across all managed companies (unless overridden at company level) | Public profile links for that company only |
| Scope | All companies under the reseller | One company |
| SSL | Automatic | Automatic |
A company can also have its own custom domain set separately. When a company has its own domain configured, that takes precedence over the reseller domain for that company's profiles. The reseller domain remains as the fallback for any company without its own domain set.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use separate domains for the portal login and for public profiles?
[NEEDS VERIFICATION: whether separate portal and profile domains are supported at the reseller level]
Can each client company use a subdomain of my reseller domain?
[NEEDS VERIFICATION: whether per-company subdomains under the reseller domain are supported, e.g. clientname.yourbrand.com]
What happens to existing NFC cards if I change or remove the reseller domain?
NFC cards use a redirect URL that resolves to the correct profile. If you remove a custom domain, profile links will fall back to the NFC Tagify default domain. Physical cards do not need to be reprogrammed, but any printed links or QR codes pointing to your old domain will stop working. Plan domain changes carefully.
Do I need to set up a custom domain, or can I run as a reseller without one?
A custom domain is optional. If you do not set one, your clients will access the platform via the default NFC Tagify URL, which may expose the NFC Tagify branding. For a fully white-label experience, a custom domain is recommended.
