Help Center › Print Templates - Business Card Designer

Design professional printable business cards with your logo, contact details, and QR code — all in one place. Choose a layout, apply your brand colours, add your assigned QR code, and export a print-ready PDF or image file for any print shop.

Key benefits

  • Print and digital in sync — your physical card carries a QR code that links to your live digital profile; tap or scan to get the full picture
  • No external design software — build both sides of a card in the portal without Photoshop, Canva, or InDesign
  • Consistent team cards — company-level templates mean every team member's card follows the same design; only the personal details change
  • Print-ready export — export at high resolution (300 DPI+) in a format your print shop can use

Who it's for

All NFC Tagify portal users. Company admins can create a shared template so the whole team gets consistent, on-brand cards without each person designing from scratch.

How to design your business card

  • Go to Portal → Print Templates (or open from your profile hub)
  • Choose a layout — single-sided (one face) or double-sided (front and back)
  • The front face is pre-populated with your name, job title, company, and email from your profile — adjust as needed
  • Click Add QR code — your saved QR template is applied; the code links to your digital profile
  • Add your logo — upload your company or personal logo (PNG with transparent background for best results)
  • Set brand colours — background, text, and accent colours; enter hex codes for exact brand matching
  • Choose your fonts — select from the available font library; keep body text at 7–9 pt for readability at card size
  • (Optional) Edit the back face — add a tagline, your profile QR at a larger size, social handles, or a brand graphic
  • Click Preview to check both sides at actual card dimensions
  • Click Export — choose PDF (recommended) or image format and download
  • Layout options

    | Layout | Description | Best for |

    |--------|-------------|---------|

    | Single-sided | All content on one face | Simple, cost-effective; standard for most professionals |

    | Double-sided | Front + back | Extra info on the back — tagline, second QR, social links, brand story |

    Content blocks

    | Block | Source | Notes |

    |-------|--------|-------|

    | Name & job title | Your profile | Auto-filled; edit in card only without changing your profile |

    | Contact details | Your profile | Choose which to show: phone, email, website |

    | Company logo | Upload or profile | PNG with transparent background recommended |

    | QR code | Your QR template | Links to your digital profile when scanned |

    | Custom text | Free input | Tagline, office address, social handles, department |

    Styling guide

    • Background colour — a white or very light background ensures the QR code remains scannable
    • Text contrast — dark text on light background (or reverse) for readability; test at card size
    • Font size — name: 10–12 pt; job title: 8–9 pt; contact details: 7–8 pt
    • QR code size — at least 18 × 18 mm (about ¾ inch) for reliable scanning on a printed card
    • Logo — keep it clear and not too large; it should complement the layout, not dominate

    Print specifications

    • Standard card size — 85 × 55 mm (EU) or 3.5" × 2" (US)
    • Resolution — export at 300 DPI minimum; most print shops require 300–600 DPI
    • Bleed — add 3 mm bleed on all sides if your print shop requires it (check their guidelines)
    • Colour mode — the exported file is RGB; ask your print shop if they require CMYK conversion

    Use cases

    • Sales teams — a physical card with a QR code that opens the rep's digital profile; the contact scan is one tap away
    • Conferences and networking events — hand out physical cards knowing the QR code keeps working even after job title or number changes
    • Company rebrand — update the company template once and regenerate cards for the entire team
    • Freelancers — professional card without a print designer; export and order from any online print shop

    Frequently asked questions

What file format should I export for printing?

PDF is the standard for professional printing — it preserves layout, fonts, and colour exactly. Export at 300 DPI or higher. If your print shop asks for a specific format (e.g. TIFF or high-res JPEG), check their upload requirements.

Can different team members have different designs?

Yes. Each profile can have an individual print template. Company admins can also create a shared company template that all team members start from — keeping the branding consistent while each person fills in their own details.

Where does the QR code link?

The QR code uses whichever QR template is assigned to your profile. By default this links to your public NFC Tagify profile. To change the QR destination, update your QR template in the QR Code Designer.

My card looks right on screen but comes back blurry from the printer — why?

This is usually a resolution issue. Ensure you're exporting at 300 DPI or higher. If your logo looks blurry, replace it with a higher-resolution version (or an SVG).

Can I design my own completely custom layout?

The card designer covers the most common professional layouts. For a fully bespoke design, you can use the exported QR code image inside your own design software (Illustrator, Canva, InDesign) and order printing separately.

Is there a cost to use the business card designer?

The business card designer is included in all NFC Tagify plans at no extra charge. Printing costs depend on your chosen print shop.
