Help Center › Profile Details (Contents tab)
Your digital business card profile is the heart of NFC Tagify. It holds your contact details, photo, and the information that colleagues and new contacts will see when they tap your NFC card or scan your QR code. This article explains how to create a profile, what fields are available, and how to keep your details up to date.
---
What is a profile?
A profile is your personal digital business card within NFC Tagify. It contains your name, job title, contact details, links, and any other information you choose to share. When someone taps your NFC card or scans your QR code, they are taken to your live profile page.
Each user account has one profile. Your profile is linked to your NFC card, your QR code, and any template you have applied. Changes you make to your profile details are reflected immediately on your live page.
---
Creating your profile
New users are prompted to complete their profile during the onboarding flow after first login. If you skipped onboarding, you can create or complete your profile at any time:
Your profile is immediately live once saved. There is no separate publish step.
---
Editing your profile details
To edit your profile at any time:
Available fields
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| First name | Required |
| Last name | Required |
| Job title | Shown under your name on the profile card |
| Headline | A short one-line statement, shown below the job title |
| Department | Used for organisational grouping; also displayed if your template shows it |
| Bio | A longer free-text description — supports basic formatting |
| Profile photo | Square crop recommended; updating this replaces the photo everywhere it appears |
| Hero / banner image | A wide banner shown at the top of your profile page |
Profile photo: When you upload or change your profile photo, it updates in every place that photo is displayed — including the profile card, any templates that pull from your profile, and email signatures generated from your profile. There is no need to update it in multiple places.

Your profile URL
Each profile has a unique public URL. By default, this is generated from your name (e.g. id.nfctagify.com/?id=abc123). You can view your profile URL in the My Profile section of the portal.
If your company has a custom domain configured, your profile may also be accessible via that domain.
To copy your profile URL, click the Copy link button on the My Profile page. You can share this URL directly — it works independently of an NFC card.
---
Visibility settings
By default your profile is publicly visible to anyone with the link. You can change this:
- Public — Anyone with the link can view your profile. This is the default.
- Unlisted — Your profile is accessible only to people who have the exact URL. It will not appear in any directory.
- Private — Only you and company admins can view your profile. Useful if your card is not yet in use.
To change your visibility:

How profile data flows to templates
Your profile fields are dynamic data sources. This means that when a template is designed to pull in "first name" or "job title", it reads directly from your profile. If you update your job title, that change appears automatically in your live card — you do not need to edit the template separately.
Similarly, if a company admin updates a template that all members use, those layout changes apply to everyone without each person needing to re-save their profile.

Company admins editing team members' profiles
If you are a company admin, you can edit the profile details of any member within your company:
Members receive no automatic notification when an admin edits their profile, but they will see the updated details when they next log in.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have more than one profile?
No, each user account is linked to one profile. If you need multiple profiles (for example, for different roles or brands), contact your company admin or NFC Tagify support to discuss options.
Will updating my profile affect my NFC card?
Yes. Your NFC card points to your profile URL. When you update your profile details, anyone who taps your card will immediately see the updated information. There is no need to reprint or reprogram the card.
Can I preview how my profile looks before saving?
Yes. On the profile edit page there is a Preview button that shows you how your card will appear to visitors. Changes are not published until you click Save.
My profile photo looks blurry or cropped oddly — how do I fix it?
Upload a square image at a minimum of 400 × 400 pixels for best results. Very small images may appear pixelated when enlarged. After upload, a crop tool allows you to adjust the framing before saving.
Can I delete my profile?
Individual users cannot delete their own profile — this requires a company admin or NFC Tagify support. You can set your profile to Private to prevent it from being publicly accessible.
