What is an NFC Tagify digital business card?

An NFC Tagify digital business card is an online profile that holds your contact details, links, and branding in one place. It lives at a permanent web address and can be shared by tapping an NFC card, scanning a QR code, or sending a link — no app required for the person receiving it.

Unlike a printed card, your digital card is always up to date. The moment you save a change in the portal, the new information appears on your live profile. There is nothing to reprint and nothing to redistribute.

What your visitor sees

When someone opens your digital card — whether through a tap, a scan, or a link — their browser loads your public profile page. This is a mobile-friendly web page that displays your information in a clean, readable layout.

Depending on what you have filled in, the visitor will see:

  • Your name, job title, and company name
  • A profile photo or company logo (or both)
  • A short bio or tagline
  • Contact buttons (phone, email, WhatsApp, etc.) — tapping one opens the relevant app directly on their phone
  • Social media links
  • A website link
  • Any custom links you have added (portfolio, booking page, etc.)
  • An "Add to Contacts" button that lets them save your details directly to their phone's address book

The page works on any modern smartphone, tablet, or desktop browser. There is no app to download and no account needed to view a profile.

What you can show on your card

Your profile supports a range of information fields. You control which ones appear and in what order. Common options include:

Contact details

  • Mobile and office phone numbers
  • Email address
  • Business address

Online presence

  • Website URL
  • LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other social profiles
  • Custom links with your own labels (e.g. "Book a meeting", "View my portfolio", "Download my brochure")

About you

  • Profile photo
  • Short bio (a sentence or two works best)
  • Job title and department
  • Company name and logo

Branded elements

  • Profile background colour or image (depends on your plan and company template)
  • Card colour scheme set by your company or reseller

How to share your digital card

There are three main ways to share your card.

1. NFC tap

If you have a physical NFC Tagify card, hold it near the back of someone's phone. The phone detects the card and opens your profile in their browser automatically. No unlock required on most Android phones; iPhone users may see a notification banner at the top of the screen that they tap to open.

See [NFC Tap — What Happens When Someone Taps Your Card](./03-nfc-tap.md) for full device compatibility details.

2. QR code

Your profile includes a unique QR code. The other person opens their phone's camera, points it at the code, and taps the notification to open your profile. QR codes work on all modern iPhones and Android phones without a separate scanning app.

You can download your QR code from the portal to print on marketing materials, email signatures, or anything else.

3. Link

Your profile has a permanent URL (e.g. id.nfctagify.com/?id=yourname). You can copy this link and share it anywhere: email, text message, LinkedIn, or a messaging app. The recipient clicks the link and your profile opens in their browser.

You can find your profile link in the portal under your profile settings.

Keeping your card up to date

Your digital card is live at all times. Any change you make in the portal takes effect immediately — there is no publish button to press.

To update your card:

  • Log in to the portal at [portal.nfctagify.com](https://portal.nfctagify.com)
  • Go to your profile
  • Edit any field — name, job title, phone number, links, photo, etc.
  • Save
  • The next time anyone opens your profile — whether through a tap, scan, or link — they will see the updated information. This includes everyone who has already saved your link or bookmarked your page.

Your NFC card and QR code do not need to change. They always point to the same profile URL, so keeping the same physical card is fine even when your job title or phone number changes.

    Frequently asked questions

Do recipients need to download an app?

No. Your profile opens in a standard web browser. The person viewing it does not need to install anything.

Can I have more than one digital card?

Yes. Depending on your plan and company setup, you may have a single profile or multiple profiles. If your company has a team setup, each team member typically has their own profile.

What happens if I delete a link or piece of information?

It is removed from your public profile immediately. Anyone who visits your profile after you save the change will no longer see it.

Can I see who has viewed my card?

Yes. The portal includes analytics that show how many times your profile has been viewed and which links have been clicked. Detailed visitor identification is not available — analytics are aggregated.

My company controls the design — can I still edit my own details?

Yes. Company administrators control the visual template (colours, logo, layout), but individual users can typically still edit their own contact information. Your administrator sets which fields you can customise. If a field is locked, contact your company admin.

Is my profile visible to search engines?
